Cecchetti International Classical Ballet Competition July 2024

The Cecchetti International Classical Ballet (CICB) Competition is held every three years in various countries around the world. On July 21-27, 2024, the competition was hosted by the Cecchetti Council of America in beautiful Holland, Michigan, USA.
Forty-two exceptionally talented pre-professional ballet students from Australia, Canada, England, Southern Africa, and the United States had the opportunity to perform and compete for monetary awards and scholarships to further enhance their dance journeys.
During this seven-day event students attended educational technique classes and rehearsals taught by world renowned dance professionals. Performance events took place at the Jack H. Miller Center for the Musical Arts and culminated with a Final Gala performance on Saturday, July 27.
Senior division winners were: Ava Borngesser (Cecchetti Council of America) Maestro Enrico Cecchetti Gold Award, Samantha Wong (Cecchetti Ballet Australia Inc.) Silver Award and Senior Contemporary Award, and Meghan Klynveld (Cecchetti Society of Southern Africa) Bronze Award. Junior division winners were Ava Buckhalt (Cecchetti USA) Gold Award, Emily Kim (Cecchetti USA) Siver Award and Junior Contemporary Award, and Misa Titcher (Cecchetti Ballet Australia Inc.) Bronze Award.

Our Mission
The Cecchetti Council of America is dedicated to maintaining the standards and method of classical ballet training established by Cavalier Enrico Cecchetti. The CCA provides a mentored education and training which includes history, anatomy, and music instruction for member teachers.
