CCA Ballet Festival

February 10-11, 2024

The CCA will host a two-day CCA Ballet Festival which includes the CCA Open Competition, CICB Qualifying Audition, and CCA Ballet Day and Teacher Refresher.

We invite all members to attend this educational event to further enhance training and develop technique.

The CCA Ballet Festival will include:
CCA Ballet Day and Teacher Refresher-Classes for students and teachers taught by CCA and guest faculty.

CICB Qualifying Audition-CICB scholarship competition auditions to represent CCA in the 2024 CICB competition.

CCA Open Competition-Adjudicated student showcase for solo and group pieces with opportunities to earn scholarships for summer intensives around the country.

Location at John R. Armstrong Performing Arts Center in Clinton Twp, Michigan.

 

CCA Classical Ballet Competition

Competition Mission Statement

The mission of the Cecchetti Council of America Classical Ballet Competition is to support and develop dancers of all economic, ethnic, and geographic backgrounds by providing education, performance, and scholarship opportunities. The CCA competition serves as part of the international network of dance through its affiliation with the Cecchetti International Classical Ballet organization.

 

General Information

The Cecchetti Council of America is holding a classical ballet competition in conjunction with the CCA Ballet Festival on February 10-11, 2024. Eligible participants will be able to compete for the opportunity to represent CCA at the Cecchetti International Ballet Competition (CICB) in Holland, Michigan in July, 2024.

 

 Open Competition

The competition will have classical soloists, contemporary soloists, and group categories. The classical and contemporary soloist categories have a petite, junior, and senior division. All participants will be competing for awards and scholarships. Students do not need to be Cecchetti trained to participate in the festival or open competition, and independent entries are accepted.

 

 CICB Competition Audition 

Dancers auditioning to represent CCA for the Cecchetti International Classical Ballet Competition (CICB) must meet all requirements. Full eligibility requirements for CICB can be found at https://www.cecchetti.org/cecchetti-competition-2024/competitors/. Sponsors must hold their Intermediate teaching certificate.

Location: Armstrong Center for the Performing Arts in Clinton Township, Michigan

Registration Opens: October 15, 2023

Registration Deadline: January 1, 2024

Music Submission Deadline: January 1, 2024

Fees: Fees listed are per competitor.
Registration Fee – $40 per dancer (Registration fee includes a digital video of each dancer’s performance/s).
Classical or Contemporary Solo – $95 for each solo entry
Pas de Deux, Duet/Trio – $60 per dancer, per entry
Groups (4+ members) – $55 per dancer, per entry
