The National Executive Board of Directors of the Cecchetti Council of America is proud to present a brief bio of ROSINA DEVRIES, D.F.C.C.A.:

Rosina was born and raised in England. Her dance training commenced with Elisabeth Swan at the Weston Schools of Dancing. She later studied with Victoria Chappell at the London College of Dance where she received her Teaching Diploma with Distinction and was awarded the Maestro Cecchetti Diploma. During her training for the Final Diploma, Rosina was awarded both the Diana Barker Award for Cecchetti Ballet and the Lisa Osbourn Award for Classical Ballet.

She danced with the Chelmsford Ballet Company as well as performing with Newpalm Productions.

Her teaching career has taken Rosina to Larissa, Greece; New York, where she also choreographed for the Rockland Youth Dance Ensemble; and North Carolina, where she was head of the Cecchetti Program at City Ballet of Raleigh. Former students have moved on to study at the School of American Ballet, the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at American Ballet Theatre, the Juilliard School, and North Carolina School for the Arts. Rosina’s former students have performed with The Richmond Ballet, Carolina Ballet, Ballet Theatre of Maryland, and New Jersey Ballet.

Currently, Rosina is on faculty at the Dance Center of Evanston in Illinois and teaches at various workshops and summer programs throughout the U.S. including the CCA International Summer School and Teachers’ Course. She received her Maestro Cecchetti Diploma through the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, Cecchetti Society Branch in London, England. A Diploma Fellow of and Examiner for the Cecchetti Council of America, Rosina is Chair of the committee planning the Specialized Teacher Training and Exam Program which will be available for the 2021 CCA International Teachers’ Course.

She lives in Wilmette, Illinois with her husband, Jon, their twin daughters, a big, fluffy dog, and two cats.
