Things to note in the new syllabus books that will be required for examinations in 2011.
At the last Examining Board Meeting the following changes and additions to the Graded Syllabus were made:
GRADE ONE:
Theory of the head in a pirouette
First Arabesque raised leg on both sides
Chassé—as a basic step
Boys 1/4 tour en l’air
GRADE TWO:
Chassé —shown in the basic steps
GRADE THREE:
Theory—4th and 5th arabesques with chassé
Second port de bras—described
Traditional Cecchetti pirouette ending
GRADE IV
Sequence of eight body positions
Adage basic steps: First and Second Arabesque croisé
Allegro basic steps: Royale, entrechat quatre, sissone en arriérée, ouvert and fermée
Pre-pointe basic steps: posé développé, pas de bourrée piqué
